A Brief Overview
The personal data collected via our website is based on what you enter yourself, for example in your orders or online bookings. Other anonymous data is it collected on the website as a result of analytics to help us maximise the website experience. All consultation data from your sessions is strictly confidential and held in a professional manner. You can find out about how I store this data and how to request a deletion further on in this document. I only use your data for our own purposes and never sell data to 3rd parties.
By using our website, you agree to the use of these and have a choice if you wish to enter your personal data or not.
GDPR is now EU law which gives control to individuals on how their data is used.
We store the minimum information required to provide you with the service, share it only with GDPR-compliant processors when required for operational purposes, and do not let any other third-party link, track or access information about our users.
Siobhán Carroll is qualified professional Naturopath and Yoga teacher, registered in Ireland so she works under the jurisdiction of Ireland and EU law, compiling with EU GDPR standards for our global audience. All information collected via her website is strictly for the purpose of people being able to book a session with her, pay online through secure gateways and opt-in to marketing options eg. The newsletter.
What Information We May Collect, How we Collect it and Why
The Data provided directly by the User
Contact Detail such as name (first and last), email address, payment details and phone numbers where applicable via any or all of the following:
- WooCommerce payments using Stripe.
- Online Booking with payments via Amelia.
- Contact via phone number or WhatsApp and email.
- Signup request to be added to our mailing list.
All the information I collect from the above methods are to processes your orders for consultations. Answer your questions. Keep you up to date of our latest news. You have the right to request deletion of your data at any time however in accordance with revenue and tax laws, we do need to keep receipt of payments for 5 years.
The Anonymous Data collected automatically by our website
I use Google Analytics and may use Facebook pixels from time to time to help us run our business online. This is standard practice and strictly for my own use including any offline events I maybe part of and may be of interest to my audience. The privacy policies for both are connected via the links provided. I use these to help optimise my website, alert to any issues and use these platforms to reach our audience in marketing campaigns.
In the event we use other tracking code, we aim to list it here. Please be assured, I only ever use tracking for my own business and never pass on analytics collect to other parties.
Collection of Data Outside Our Website
All information collected in my sessions is handled with strictest confidentiality and professionalism. Any data collected at events will also give you the opportunity to consent and in so doing, the same process applies to your data as data collected from the website.
How We May Use Your Information
The purpose of retaining the information that you provide to NERDY NATUROPATH will only be used for the following purposes appropriate to the services provided: (Please make sure you are happy everything is covered)
- Providing necessary contact and payment information for purchase of a consultation package or booking.
- Providing necessary contact information for your booking.
- Responding directly to any valid queries we receive through phone, text, WhatsApp and/or email.
- Testimonials are given only with the permission of the client and can be removed or deleted at any time upon request.
- Billing (Invoicing and receipts) where appropriate. Please note we must retained payment receipts for 5 years in line with tax laws.
- Marketing such as sign up for email newsletters (but only if you have agreed to this).
- We never sell or pass on your personal information to 3rd parties and retain it only for the use of our website and my business.
How Your Information May Be Shared
All information that is collected will be for the purpose of running my business called NERDY NATUROPATH and I will only use the information and data this business.
Where Your Information is Stored
All emails are sent via Mailchimp which is compliant with GDPR – and always includes an unsubscribe button. Should you want your data permanently deleted, simply reply to any email and request permanently deletion of all data in line with your User Rights.
My web hosting and email hosting through Siteground and are also fully compliant with GDPR.
I use Stripe, WooCommerce and Amelia as my payment systems which are both well recognised online payment platforms and legally fully compliant.
Who has Access to your Records and Why
I have access to your all records directly as your therapist and the data collected on my website can only be accessed by professional support staff when necessary to fix any website issues. I value privacy and ensure anyone I employ to work on my website will always do the same.
How Long is Your Information Retained?
Our policy is to retain data for max 2 years after the last interaction. Data protection law requires interaction to have taken place within 12 months. After this period, the data is marked for deletion every 3-6mths and will be deleted on the following cycle check. However, all records can be deleted at any time if you request it in writing by contacting my data controller.
User Rights
- You can request to see all our records on you at any time.
- If you think some information is incorrect, or not needed for the purposes outlined above, you may request that we amend it or destroy it.
- You can request us to destroy all records that we hold on you.
- Please allow up to 30 days for us to comply.
How to Contact Our Data Controller
I, Siobhan Carroll am also the Data Protection Officer, (DPO) and may be contacted for all matters relating to your personal records. All requests for destruction of records or requests to receive or amend records should be made directly by email and confirmed by email read receipt and delivery.
